Mclaren 720S Spider

Hmmm……… The Mclaren 720S Spider eh. Pretty cool car, my dream car. I mean why not? it is the prettiest looking car on earth with all the functions of a daily driver.

The functions of the car also match up to those of a daily driver. For example, the car has a whole lot of storage including a frunk and a rear boot space if you have the roof up, there is a total of 200litres of “Boot Space”. There is a place to put your key in so you don’t lose it.

Now, time for the exciting part………. Performance Specs! This car has Track Telemetry and Variable Drift Control which allows you to control the angle at which your car is drifting.

Just like the coupe version of the 720S, the Spider version can do a standing quarter-mile in 10.4 seconds.

The car has a 4-litre twin-turbo V8 with 720 BHP and 770 Neuton Metres of torque which allows it to go from nought to 60 in 2.8 seconds. The top speed is 212 MPH with the roof up, but with the roof down it does 202 MPH which is also the top speed of the 600LT Spider.

The suspension system on this car is amazing as it can predict bumps and where the car is leaning to keep it flat and smooth in the corners.

The Carbon Ceramic brakes are not grabby and if you need to brake harder, the rear spoiler will actually raise up and acts as an air brake to help.

This car is all about having an all in one car where you can daily drive and track drive it. Normally, when car manufacturers convert their coupe models into convertibles, they will usually add weight. But for this car, they tried their best to lose as much weight as possible so most of the parts are made out of carbon fibre. As a result, the weight of the car is 1.437 tonnes.

That may sound like a lot but when you compare it to other competitors, it is actually the lightest.

The Audi R8 RWS is almost 90 KG heavier.

The Ferrari 488 Pista convertible is 100 KG heavier.

The Aston Martin DB11 is 110 KG heavier.

And the Lamborghini Huracan is 120 KG heavier.

So, this is the end of my blog and for my opinion on it. Like Mat Watson of Carwow said, instead of avoiding, considering or shortlisting it, go right on and buy it and I totally agree with him.
