2020 718 Cayman GT4

The 718 Cayman GT4 is the highest end Cayman you can get and the entry level GT car from Porsche. But, is it really worth the money?

The GT4 comes with a 6 speed PDK transmission that allows it to shift smoother than the 911 Carrera 4S. The 718 Cayman GT4 also puts out 404 horsepower and 309 pounds feet of torque from a 4-liter naturally aspirated flat 6 which is basically the engine from the 992 911 but without the turbo. Hence lapping the Green Hell in 7 minutes and 28 seconds which is as fast as the Huracan LP610-4! which has a V12 and not a flat six. So, its pretty dang fast.

Although it will get caught by the likes of the Mustang GT and the Scat Packed Challenger at a red light, on the track, the car really comes alive like a actual GT race car that can keep up with the GT3 RS on a small track. And the F90 M5 AC Schnitzer on the Green Hell.

This base model GT Porsche has so much potential that I think I might choose this car over a 911 Carrera. The light and nimble GT4 is really a fast little sports car that behaves like a hot hatch and can keep up with an Italian supercar on the world’s most dangerous racetrack.

In conclusion, it is really worth the money if you want a track day weapon that maybe can act as a daily driver if you can adapt with the cabin being really loud and the suspension being too hard.
